Our Team

Flavia Zancope, Notary Public, MBA, M.A.A.L.S.

Reliable, informative and professional

Flavia was born and raised in Brazil, where she studied law at an undergraduate level for three years.

While she left Brazil—and her legal studies—to pursue a business administration degree, she has always been intrigued by law. After 15 years of working as a business professional with a variety of companies, from small- and medium-sized businesses to multinational corporations, she decided to leverage her business expertise and pursue her true passion—helping people with their legal matters.

Flavia’s passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge provides her clients with the confidence and trust they seek when making important personal and legal decisions—selling or buying a house, making a will, appointing a power of attorney, selecting the right estate executor, creating a living will, and notarizing and sending documents to other countries.

Flavia holds master’s degrees in applied legal studies and in business administration.

Outside the office, Flavia enjoys spending time with her husband, her kids and her dog at the beautiful lakes and parks of British Columbia.

Marcella Barbosa, Notary Public, M.A.A.L.S.

Marcella Barbosa is a Notary Public commissioned by the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Born in Brazil, Marcella was a licensed lawyer before she immigrated to Canada in 2005 with her husband.

In Canada Marcella studied business and worked in property management for several years where she gained experience in the local real estate market, as well as constructions and development practices. After starting a family, Marcella took some time off to care for her two kids. Going back to the legal field was always a dream, and after meeting Flavia Zancope she decided to return to work as a legal assistant.

After learning about the Notary profession, together with the incentive of her family and from Flavia herself, Marcella decided to apply for the SFU Master’s Program and was admitted. After the successful completion of a two years program and passing all required statutory examinations, Marcella is now working as a Notary Public alongside Flavia. Practicing “happy law” and helping the community in the most important times of their lives is extremely gratifying.

In her free time, Marcella enjoys exercising and keeping fit, as well as spending time with her husband and kids riding bikes, going to the movies, and traveling.

Shelley Araki

is ZNP’s office manager and often the first contact with clients. She has many years of experience as a legal assistant / conveyancer and she also manages our banking and third party relations.

Christine Elliott

is ZNP’s conveyancer. She has graduated from Douglas College in the legal assistant program. She is the person to call when you have a question on your real estate deal.

Vanessa Almeida

is ZNP’s administrative assistant. She speaks English and Portuguese and she is our client’s contact person for wills, legalizations and notarizations.
